I am an Applied Economist. My research focuses on the intersection of agricultural production, technology adoption, and farm labour markets, drawing on evidence from field experiments, survey data, and satellite imagery. Originally from Myanmar, a country with an ongoing civil war, I am particularly passionate about how conflict and fragility shape agricultural production. My work in this area investigates how armed conflict affects agricultural productivity and land use, as well as the role of agricultural clusters in building resilience to conflict shocks. I am also interested in research on farm labour issues and food production. My previous research includes how farm labour scarcity, immigration enforcement, and farm labour policy changes affect farmer adaptation strategies in the United States. I also have several years of experience collecting nationally representative survey data, conducting field experiments, and carrying out impact evaluations in South Asia while working with the International Food Policy Research Institute and Michigan State University. My goal is to produce high-quality research that has real impact on the ground and improves the lives of farmers and rural communities.
