I am an applied economist interested in agricultural markets, their functioning, and the behavior of market participants. My research focuses primarily on production economics and risk management.

My early research centered on analyzing prices, production risks, and insurance policies for row crops. However, more recently, my work has shifted toward horticultural crops. I have worked on analyzing the economic feasibility of management strategies aimed at mitigating risks and enhancing productivity, profitability, and sustainability, primarily in citrus production but also in blueberries and peaches.

A related area of my research involves evaluating the factors that influence farmers’ decision-making processes for technology adoption, particularly in the context of agricultural pest and disease management. My research has, for example, contributed to elucidating the role of strategic uncertainty in farmers’ decisions to participate in a voluntary biosecurity program.
